Seiko Partners with HUF for the 5 Sports Limited Edition SRPL33
Seiko’s 5 Sports series, celebrated for its affordability and playful designs, takes a bold leap into street culture with the HUF Limited Edition SRPL33. This collaboration with HUF, the streetwear brand founded by legendary skateboarder Keith Hufnagel, combines Seiko's watchmaking expertise with the edgy aesthetic of skateboarding culture.
The SRPL33 features a robust 42.5mm stainless steel case with a height of 13.4mm and a crown positioned at 4 o’clock for comfort. Its unidirectional rotating bezel is adorned with a black, red, and silver insert borrowed from the SRPK13. The Hardlex crystal and a mix of brushed and polished finishes provide durability and refinement, while the 100-meter water resistance ensures versatility.
The dial showcases a silver sunray finish paired with beige LumiBrite markers and hands, adding vintage charm. Lime green accents on the seconds hand, the HUF logo, and sections of the minute track, along with a contrasting blue segment, create a striking visual. A day-date window with a faceted frame enhances practicality.
At its heart is the reliable Calibre 4R36 automatic movement, visible through a green-tinted caseback emblazoned with the HUF logo. While Seiko rates its accuracy at +45/-35 seconds per day, the actual performance often surpasses these specs. The industrial finish of the movement gains a modern edge with the tinted crystal.
Completing the look is a stainless steel three-link bracelet with a folding clasp, echoing the brand’s practical design ethos. Limited to 7,000 pieces, the SRPL33 will be available starting December 2024, celebrating Keith Hufnagel's legacy through a timepiece that bridges watchmaking and street culture.
