Stoat Family playing

Young stoats are known as kits; the young are weaned at 5 weeks and are fully independent and able to kill their own prey at 12 weeks.
They may look cute but Stoats are formidable hunters; they’re fierce, strong and athletic and can easily kill and carry off rabbits twice their size
It is said that a Stoat can hypnotize prey before pouncing. They have been seen to ‘dance’ around in front of rabbits making the rabbit freeze with fear, thus giving the stoat the opportunity to pounce and swiftly kill with a powerful bite to the back of the head.
