The 43rd of my video reviews dedicated to the making of Cosgrove Hall’s film and series of ‘The Wind in the Willows’, featuring ‘picture in picture’ and the odd ‘behind the scenes’ image too, including archival photos of existing costumes and props and original drawings! This one is for Episode 10 from Series 1, ‘The Weasels’ Trap’ (originally transmitted in the UK on 30th November 1984). It was never released on VHS in the UK, but was on DVD by Time Life in 2003, and then more generally in 2007/2008.
We are now in the thick of Autumn 2019, and so this one feels very apt for this time of year! Some script notes/revisions are included at the end of the video. Also, at the end of the video I mention some related events coming up in Sale, Manchester, all of which I’ll be attending. Details are as follows:
‘Materials in Motion’ Animation Symposium:
/
‘Puppet Masters’ Animation Conference:
/
‘Cosgrove Hall: Frame by Frame’ Exhibition:
/
Reviews of the series continues as we progress through the thick of autumn, on Sunday 27th October 2019, with ‘The Kidnapping of Toad’ (Episode 2 from Series 1).
All 52 episodes have been sorted into a special ‘seasonal’ order. The remaining 13 ‘bonus’ episodes (Series 5/the ‘Oh! Mr Toad!’ spin-off episodes) are being reviewed, one by one, as ‘additions’ every 4 weeks. Comments very welcome. 🙂
