Stoats on the move

Stoats move their young frequently to keep them safe from predators. These nest changes happen so very fast there are rarely recorded. But cameras hidden inside this nest chamber reveal this secretive behaviour. These kits are just over a month old and cumbersome. But they become submissive, allowing their bodies to go limp when carried in this way.

Bandita the stoat

This stoat mum lives in my garden. Named Bandita, she became famous after featuring in a BBC TV documentary on the nature of weasels. I continue to film her story and upload the best of the footage onto my blog. Follow it here: /
